Loads of Boats
There are loads of different boats to suit all ages and sailing
skills - from little Optibats for the young beginners to catamarans
for fun sailing and the high performance Slider for advanced sailing
skills. Plus, a fleet of new RS Fevas, Toppers, Picos, New 3.6's
and a whole bunch of kayaks & canoes for end of day messing
around. See our Equipment page
for the list and piccies.
Certificates
The aim of your week sailing with us is to learn to enjoy sailing
and work towards achieving an ISA or RYA certificate. Take
a look at the Sailing Levels for details on the different ISA
Certificatied levels. We are Irish Sailing Association (ISA)
and Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved and you can choose
which affiliated certificate you would like aim for.
Looking after you
We teach at a ratio of 6 students to 1 ISA qualified Instructor, so there is plenty of
attention from your instructor while on, & off, the water. Young students are
taught at a steady pace and the emphasis is on fun and gaining water and boat
confidence. Then as the student matures we push a little harder to achieve more
skills. With the small ratios, it is possible to give each students help and
personal care throughout the course.
Your group
Children a grouped based on age and ability. If you have no experience it is based
on age as below, if you are coming to improve your skills you will put in a group based on
sailing ability. Children can change fleet as the week progresses if we think they
will benefit from being with a different group. Find out
about the different groups & fleets.
